Or you could pretend to be a bird above your house and create a bird’s-eye-view of where you live. Your house, your garden, your street and the roads around you. Are you close to a shop or public building? Click on the link at the bottom of this post to download it.

Alternatively, have a look at the colour by numbers map of the UK that tells you about the different ages of the rock below our feet. Remember, the top layers of rock are sedimentary and as you go further and further through the layers of rock towards the centre of the Earth, the rock becomes older and older, turning into metamorphic rock and then even further down, igneous rock.
