What a remarkable experience for Starfish Class as we discussed and revisited the events behind Remembrance Day.

As we remembered the lives of those who were lost or changed during the war, there were feelings of mixed emotions. We are thankful for those who fought and sacrificed so much for us and we sadly reflected on the damages of war. We concluded that we choose peace over war.

We enjoyed our class assembly where we learnt about poppies and how they grew on the fields where the soldiers once fought. We were intrigued to see a picture of Mrs Jones’ grandfather who fought in the war. Luckily, he survived!

Finally, we wrote thank you cards for our brave soldiers and made some poppies. We also had 2 minutes silence in honour of all our heroes and we listened to the last post. It was a great week, indeed!
