What an exciting week it has been for all our Rubies. In Maths, we have engaged in a lot of fun counting games.

We learnt to double and half numbers! Some of us now know our doubles by heart to 10!

In Literacy, we have been reading Sally and the limpet by Simon James and this week, we helped Sally write a list of items she needs to go to the beach. We sorted beach items and we also made her a sun/ beach safety poster!

In PSHE, Jigsaw Jenie taught us how to be a good friend and make up with our friends when we fall out. We did a little bit of role play to show everyone what a being a good friend means.

Make friends, make friends, never  ever break friends!

We love all things creative and Miss Maskell came up with a brilliant idea- she suggested we bring out the clay! So, we made some shell print decorations with clay and we topped it up with a little bit glitter!  We are never afraid to get get our hands dirty in Ruby Class!

For Science, we discussed floating and sinking. We then explored different objects to find out if they float or sink.

Lastly, we celebrated Eid. We watched videos about Eid and made some Eid themed decorations such as mehndi hand designs and Eid cards. What a lovely way to end the week.

It has been a busy but exciting week in Reception!
