This Sunday marks the start of the Christian season of Advent which is a time of preparation for Christmas. Year One have learned about the tradition of the Advent Wreath which Churches use to mark the passing Sundays until Christmas Day when they celebrate the birth of Jesus.

We learned that the four candles have to be special colours and each one has a different meaning. We looked at the pink candle which represents Joy and spoke about how Christmas is a happy time of year for everyone, but especially Christians.
