In our art lesson this week, we used blue ink to create a Willow Pattern on a paper plate.  We based our ink paintings on the book “Escape from Pompeii”, which we are reading in our English lessons.  In our paintings, you can see Mount Vesuvius overlooking the Bay of Naples. We drew the image in pencil first and then used a very fine paintbrush to paint the outlines and details.  By adding water to the ink, we were able to make lighter tints. We are so pleased with how the plates turned out!
