This half term we have been learning how sound gets to our ears. We have learnt that is travels in sound waves and it vibrates air particles. Our ears are shaped to ‘funnel’ the sound down to our ear drum which then vibrates and makes our smallest bones in our body move. This in turn vibrates hairs inside our cochlea and then transfers into an electrical signal for our brain to translate. This all happens instantly! Today we carried our an experiment to show the effects of solid matter on sound. What a fun Science session!
