This afternoon we have learnt all about Chinese New Year. We listened to an animated story about how the Chinese Zodiac developed with a year given to each of the 12 animals. We learnt about the Chinese lantern and how they symbolise new beginnings. We also watched a Chinese dragon dance warding off evil spirits. Afterwards we created our own dragon puppets, lanterns and attempted to write our names using the Chinese alphabet.
