Good morning Year 5,
We know how hard you’re working at home if you’re able to and are proud of you all- keep persevering and we know you’ll be back at school before long.
English: Please plan a piece of persuasive writing based on Johnny Trott convincing Captain Edwards to allow him to remain aboard the Titanic. We have attached a planning frame to guide you and help you organise your ideas.
Maths: We are thinking about equivalent fractions, this means two fractions that are equivalent to each other even though they have different denominators. See if you can recall any of your prior learning from your long-term memory to help you understand the task at hand.
Theme: You can use the afternoon’s learning time as a chance to think about a Human feature (that means a man made feature) of New York City. Please research one of the following: The Statue of Liberty or Central Park. Can you find out interesting facts such as who designed and made the landmark? How do you get to these places once you’re in New York? What can you do when you’re there? The information you can record is endless- we leave it entirely up to you! Think of a creative way to share your learning with us.
