Despite the rainy weather, Year 2 took a trip to the seaside! We visited the Year 1 outdoor area to use our senses to explore what it might be like were we to visit a British seaside town. This will help us with our English writing as we are creating poetry based on this theme to link with All Aboard.

We were able to use buckets and spades to build sandcastles, pick up shells to look at their colour and texture as well as play with salt water- which was so cold it tingled our fingers like a sea urchin! We even held shells to our ears and discovered it sounded like the waves crashing on the sandy shores.

We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to being creative in our writing an the end of this week.
